Over eight persons including two children and six adults were pressed to death on Sunday when a truck with a 50 feet container fell on a fully loaded passengers bus in Lagos State.
The accident occured near Ojuelegba bridge when the trailer was said wanted to overtake the bus.
Eight persons including two children; a boy and a girl, died when inside the commercial bus.
According to the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the truck bearing the container lost control while climbing the bridge.
“Upon arrival at the scene, a truck conveying a container was found to have landed on top of a commercial bus.
“Investigation revealed that the bus was picking up passengers when the truck lost control and fell over the side of the bridge.
“A total of eight fatalities were recovered, comprising four adult males, two adult females, a girl and a boy”, the Lagos State Permanent Secretary said.
