As fighting continued in Sudan, military airstrike killed over 31 persons on Saturday at the Western Omdurman.
It was gathered that at least 31 people were killed and scores injured in an air strike said to be launched by the Sudanese Armed Forces, SAF.
Local media quoted the Sudan Ministry of Health that the number of deaths recorded from the airstrike on Saturday morning climbed to 22, with some of the affected families included children and their parents, according to a video made available by the rivalry Rapid Support Forces, RSF.
But RSF in the video said over 31 dead bodies have been counted with the casualty figure likely to increase.
It would be recalled that the Rapid Support Forces, RSF, quickly dominated the capital Khartoum and its sister cities Omdurman and Bahri after fighting broke out on April 15, and since then, the Sudanese Armed Forces often launched air and artillery strikes to reclaim the occupied territories.
Rapid Support Forces in a statement few hours ago, said the airstrike was targeted at civilian settlement and a whole family was wiped out.
RSF accompanied its statement with a video of dead bodies lying lifeless inside their homes.
RSF statement reads in quote as presented below:
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) vehemently condemn the deliberate airstrikes conducted by the extremist terrorist militia led by Al-Burhan, which occurred this Saturday morning and targeted innocent civilians in various residential areas of West Omdurman.
This heinous attack, orchestrated by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) with the support of remnants from the former regime on the residents of Square 22, Dar Al-Salam, Umbada, has resulted in the tragic loss of over 31 lives and numerous civilian injuries. Furthermore, it has caused significant destruction to homes. This act represents a grave crime against humanity and a clear violation of our religious values, cultural norms, and international conventions. It serves as a stark demonstration of the deep-rooted animosity and injustice harbored by this corrupt faction towards our people.
We urge all relevant parties, both domestically and internationally, to fulfill their responsibilities by actively monitoring and documenting the ongoing genocidal acts committed by the coup forces and remnants of the former regime against civilians, following their failed attempts to seize power.
We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to protecting the Sudanese population from the attacks carried out by the SAF, supported by remnants and terrorist groups, who persistently pursue a policy of destruction.
The Sudanese Armed Forces is yet to issue statement over the airstrike.
