
Another Bomb Blast In Kogi, One Dead, Many Injured
Many residents on Thursday night sustained injuries with one of them killed in another fresh bomb explosion that occured in Kogi State.
The bomb blast occured at Idoji area of Okene Central of Kogi State when people, including masquerades gathered to celebrate the annual Echane festival according to Daily Trust.
“One Usman Animuko Sani, said the sound of the explosion affected many residents of the area, adding that a man lost his legs while many others sustained injuries.
“He said one of the victims died on the way to Okengwe General Hospital.
“Sani further stated that some of the victims were later referred to Lokoja from the general hospital.
“The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP William Ayah, confirmed the incident, adding that one of the victims died in the hospital.
“Meanwhile, he stated that the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Edward Egbuka, had drafted police from anti-bomb unit to the scene to uncover the cause of the explosion”, Daily Trust report reads.
It would be recalled that barely 18 days after suspected bomb explosion that killed numbers of persons at a parlour, another suspected bomb blast occured last Sunday at Omofemi beer parlour within Okepadi quarters in Kabba town of Kabba local government area of Kogi State.
The explosion occured opposite Nigeria Police Force command in the area.
Police authority claimed the first explosion was caused by gas cylinder on May 11 at a beer parlour also at Kabba town.
The first explosion occured at a beer parlour around Lewu Junction in Kabba Town and left six persons dead out of sixteen injured victims.
