A non academic Staff of University of Benin, UNIBEN, Carter Oshodin has reportedly killed self over alleged inability to meet his financial needs caused by ongoing almost seven months Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU strike.

The incident occured at Umelu, a community in Upper Sakponba, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State according to ThisDay newspaper.

It was gathered that the UNIBEN Staff, Carter Oshodin was in the school premises on Friday where he was alleged to have begged people for financial assistance before he reportedly committed suicide same Friday night.

Some friends and Huma right activists in Edo State, said, Carter Oshodin who is a data entry staff of the University was not paid salary for months due to the ongoing ASUU strike.

Mr. Carter Oshodin- a Data Entry staff of the University of Benin has allegedly committed suicide.

It was alleged that he was in school yesterday begging for money and later hung himself last night.
