As part of activities to mark 2022 International Women’s day, Chidinma Ojukwu, the alleged killer of the Super TV CEO, Michael Ataga has been crowned as the Miss Cell 2022 at the Kirikiri correctional facility of the Nigerian Correctional Services in Lagos State.
Chidinma Ojukwu dressed in pageant look was seen among the female prison inmates who contested for the Miss Cell 2022.
Many analysts have condemned the Nigerian Correctional Services for allowing the suspect to be seen celebrated.
A concerned Nigerian, Abdullahi Haruspice said thus:
Commit murder, go to Nigerian Correctional Centre and be celebrated.
Her is Chidinma, the alleged killer of the supertv Owner, Usifo Ataga getting all the glitz in prison.
According to the Nigerian Prison authority, the prison is a correctional centre and not a sanction center, and I add, why not close down schools and enrol every Nigerian into the correctional centre?
This is not rehabilitation, this is emboldening impunity, you don’t honour a criminal whatsoever.
Think of how the family of the murdered man would feel seeing in shapes, curves and glamour, the killer of their brother, son, husband and breadwinner?
This is not fair and does not make sense.
When Maryam Sanda was convicted following her murder of her husband, we didn’t see this special treatment Chidnima is getting.
Nigerian Correctional Service aka Nigerian Prison, stop legitimising crimes and emboldening criminals, especially women, you are not rehabilitating, you are breeding more criminals.
It is sad hearing people preach dignity, freedom and rehabilitation in defence of people who denied others these same privileges.
To hell with the law that provides comfort to criminals because of one yeye technicalities.
Boko haram guys exterminated innocent people, the law caught up with them and boom they are given the mansion of rehabilitation.
I think the law should be Relaxed and allow offenders to go free after committing crimes.
