Benin Monarch, Oba Ewuare II has restored full traditional authority to Abudu Community, the administrative headquarters of Orhionmwon local government area of Edo state.
Oba of Benin in a press release dated April 1st, 2022 and signed by the Secretary of the Benin Traditional Council, Frank Irabor directed that Abudu community would no longer be under the traditional administration of the king or the Enogie of Evbuobanosa henceforth.
The Palace press release reads thus:
This Oba of Benin Palace Public Announcement is issued on the authority of the Oba of Benin.
The general public is hereby informed that henceforth,
Abudu Village in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State seizes to be under the traditional administration of the Enogie of Evbuobanosa.
Comsequently, the traditional head of Abudu village is now the Odionwere who will be reporting directly to the Palace of the Oba of Benin.
The general public, particularly Orhionmwon Local Government Council, should please take note.
