Bomb Blast In Moscow Injures Pro Russia War In Ukraine Supporter, Kills Driver
Russian novelist, Zakhar Prilepin, well known for being a supporter of the Russia military invasion of Ukraine, narrowly escaped death on Saturday when a bomb exploded in a car at a village about 400 kilometers east of Moscow.
Kremlin official said the writer was wounded while his driver died in the blast.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry has accused the West and Ukraine for the attack.
TASS news agency quoted the interior ministry as saying one person had been killed in the blast in Nizny Novgorod region, about 400 kilometers east of Moscow.
It was gathered that Zakhar Prilepin became conscious after the explosion.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova said on Telegram thus: “The fact has come true: Washington and NATO fed another international terrorist cell — the Kyiv regime.”
Adding that, it was the direct responsibility of the US and Britain, but provided no evidence to support the accusation.
“We pray for Zakhar,” she said.
TASS quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as declining to comment in the absence of information from investigators.
We learnt that Prilepin is a novelist who is known as an outspoken supporter of Russia’s actions in Ukraine, where Moscow’s invasion is in its 15th month, causing thousands of deaths including children and women.
Regional governor, Gleb Nikitin reportedly said: “Law enforcement officers are now investigating the circumstances and causes of the incident. Zakhar is OK.”
It would be recalled that two leading pro Russia war in Ukraine propagandists have been killed in bombings since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24 last year.
Darya Dugina, the daughter of a nationalist ideologue, died in a car bombing near Moscow in August last year, while military blogger, Vladlen Tatarsky was killed in a bomb attack in a St. Petersburg cafe last month
