Cancer Prevention: Former President Goodluck Jonathan Commends LAPO Founder Godwin Ehigiamusoe

Former Nigeria President and the current Chairman of the International Summit Council for Peace Africa, ISCP-Africa, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has commended the founder of Lift Above Poverty Organization, LAPO, Godwin Ehigiamusoe and the team members of the organization for promoting awareness against cancer from the grass roots.

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan made the commendation recently at the 28th annual LAPO Development Forum held in Abuja where the former president joined other stakeholders to discuss community based cancer control programme in Nigeria.

Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan said LAPO for years have been spearheading and promoting bottom-up advocacy for cancer prevention, detection and management through the LAPO-C4 initiative.

“Today, at the 28th Annual LAPO Development Forum in Abuja, I joined other stakeholders to discuss community-based cancer control programme in Nigeria.

“I am pleased that the founders of Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO) and their team, have for years been spearheading and promoting this bottom-up advocacy for cancer prevention, detection and management through the LAPO-C4 Initiative”, Former President Goodluck Jonathan said.

LAPO Microfinance Bank, one of the subsidiaries of the Lift Above Poverty Organization have become a house hold name in many rural and urban communities in Nigeria in providing credit facility or soft loans to many low income earners and creating health awareness and free medical tests.
