ChibokGirls: Reno Omokri Presents Letter Jonathan Govt Wrote To Ibrahim Shettima
Then presidential spokesperson to Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri, has presented a copy of the letter, the former president, through his Education minister, Nyesom Wike now Governor of Rivers State, wrote to the then Governor of Borno State, Kashim Ibrahim Shettima who is currently the vice presidential running mate with Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, not to allow students hold WAEC examinations in Chibok, which, the content of the presidential directive was disobeyed and thus allegedly paved the way for Boko Haram terrorists to kidnap over 276 of the Chibok school girls in 2014.
Chibok school girls abduction in 2014 is considered the beginning of mass abduction of school children in Nigeria by different terrorists group, which became rampant since President Muhammadu Buhari came into power in 2015.
Reno Omokri who have shown himself as an ardent supporter of the former Vice President of Nigeria, who is the current Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, wondered why APC would accept the choice of Kashim Ibrahim Shettima as vice presidential running mate to Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Someone, he said, was forewarned about the security threat posed by Boko Haram terrorists and did nothing about it.
“This is the letter Nyesom Wike, then the Minister of State for Education, wrote to Kashim Shettima, asking him not to hold WAEC exams at Chibok due to the security risk posed by terrorists.
“Shettima refused. And because of his stubborn refusal; 276 #ChibokGirls were abducted by Boko Haram.
“This is the man, Tinubu has now chosen as his running mate? A man who was forewarned about Boko Haram and did NOTHING. Interesting!”, Reno Omokri said.
