
How Bus Burst Into Flame, Kill 25 People In Bauchi – Police

On 23 March, 2023 at about 14:33 hours a report received from the divisional police officer, Gamawa division revealed that on the same date at about 14:00 hours there occurred a lone fatal motor vehicle accident involving 18-seater Hummer bus, ash in colour with registration no.
JMA 59 XA, driven by yet to be identified driver was coming from Hadeja-Jigawa State to Maiduguri-Borno State. On reaching Udubo village, Gamawa Local Government Area, the right front tyre of the vehicle burst, as a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle, swerved to the side of the road and hit four persons sitting beside the road.
Later, the victims were identified as; Inspector Dauda Adamu attached to Police Mobile Force (10PMF) Bauchi, Sanusi Yusuf aged 42 years, Mohd Sule aged 37 years and Mohd Kawule aged 45 years all ‘m’ of Udubo village who sustained serious injuries.
Consequently, the vehicle burst into flame with twenty-one (21) passengers on board. on receipt of the report, a team of policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) promptly rushed to the scene and conveyed the victims to the FMC Azare for medical attention where they were confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
The corpses were later released to their family for burial.
However, the twenty-one (21) other corpses burnt beyond recognition were taken and deposited at the general hospital Hadeja.
Furthermore, the Mobile Personnel identified passed away while receiving treatment at Federal Medical Center (FMC) Azare.
The Commissioner of Police CP Aminu Alhassan psc (+) commiserates with the family on this irreplaceable loss.
He also prays for the departed souls to continue to rest in peace.
