
Ibrahim Attahiru’s Death: Nigerians Express Different Views As Defence Headquarters Issues Complicated Statement #OsazuwaAkonedo

Nigerians have started to make known their feelings that the Nigeria Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru may not have died accidentally.
A cross session of Nigerians believed the Army Chief could have been killed by man made error.
Some others in thier expressions belived the Army Chief could have been killed due to his succeeding move against terrorism in the Northern part of Nigeria.
Many Nigerians wondered, why the Army Chief will die same week the Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shakau was reportedly killed in rival war with ISWAP.
In some quarters, it is said the allegation of embezzlement of funds meant for arms in the fight against Boko Haram should be a basis for investigation if the Nigeria government is ready to unravel the cause of Attahiru death.
The suspecion of Nigerians grew higher when the Nigeria Defence Headquarters issued a statement indicating the Army Chief and 10 others were killed in the plane crash due bad weather.

The Defence Headquarters in the statement said the Army Chief plane touched the Kaduna Air Port runway and crashed due to bad weather.
Videos and photographs of scene of the incident make the Defence Headquarters statement complicated.
The scene of incident indicate the plane burst into flame while approaching the Kaduna runway.
In the press release signed Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the acting Director of Defence Information and made available yesterday reads:
It is with a heavy heart that the Armed Forces of Nigeria regrets to announce that this evening at about 1800 Hours, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru in company of his entourage, who were on official trip from Abuja to Kaduna, were involved in an air mishap.
The unfortunate incident occurred after landing at the Kaduna International Airport due to inclement weather.
The Chief of Defence Staff General Lucky Irabor has therefore directed that an Accident Investigation Board be constituted to unravel the immediate and remote cause(s) of the unfortunate accident.
As we pray for the repose of the souls of our gallant and committed Chief of Army Staff and other personnel on board with him, the A.F.N solicits the support and understanding of all Nigerians in the face of this tragic incident.

We wish to state that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remains resolute in combatting the security challenges bedeviling our nation. The sacrifices of our dearly departed heroes will not be in vain.
Meanwhile, the C.D.S urges all military personnel and their families to take heart and be condoled on this tragic loss.
The C.D.S also reassures all Nigerians of the commitment and loyalty of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to the Constitution and Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as it continues to carry out its responsibilities.
