Body of a police officer beheaded and stripped naked along Onitsha-Owerri road at Ihembosi community in the Ihiala local government area of Anambra state have decomposed and rusting into pieces since the victim was attacked alongside other colleagues by unknown gunmen about 2 weeks ago.

Sources said men of the Nigeria Police Force tried to retrieve the body soon after the incident but they could not due resistance of the unknown gunmen.

The sources close to the Nigeria police said the deceased was among the police men attached to the owner of a very popular transport company in Nigeria.

The sources said the police men were on their way to Imo State Air Port to help the transport boss back home who is said hails from Neni community in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State when they ran into unknown gunmen around Ihembosi.

It was gathered the unknown gunmen beheaded two of the police men, roasted one of them and stripped the other naked to rust away along the ever busy Onitsha-Owerri road, shortly after Sea Horse company at Ihembosi.

The third police officer said to be kidnapped and taken away alive may have been killed according to sources close to the police.

Passengers and other road users for weeks now have to close their mouths and nose while passing through the area where the body of the beheaded police officer is decomposing.
