hear the appeal filed by President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government to stop the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This was revealed by Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lawyer to the detained Biafra secessionist leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in a statement on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the notice of appeal and stay of execution of judgement of the Appeal Court filed by the Federal Government was served on the office of the lead counsel to the detained Biafra secessionist leader, Mike Ozekhome on Wednesday evening around 5:03 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ifeanyi Ejiofor said the Supreme Court of Justice has fixed Monday October 24, 2022 to hear the request for stay of execution of judgement of the Appeal Court made by the Federal Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It would be recalled that the Appeal Court sitting in Abuja has set free the detained Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on the ground that he has no case to answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Appeal Court in its rulling on October 13, 2022, discharged and acquitted the detained Biafra secessionist leader from the remaining seven count charges of Terrorism leveled against him by the Federal Government of Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Muhammadu Buhari has since the Appeal Court rulling, refused to release the Biafra secessionist leader despite appeals from Southeast senators and other individuals and organizations.<\/p>\n<div class=\"likebtn_container\" style=\"\"><!--
