
INEC Declares Tinubu As President-elect
Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 Presidential election in Nigeria.
INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu made the declaration at the early hours of Wednesday, March 1st, 2023 after the election was held on Saturday 25, February, 2023.
70 year old Bola Asiwaju Tinubu wins 2023 presidential elections in Nigeria, according to INEC with 8,794,726 votes with 12 states in the federation won.
INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, who declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President-elect at about 4:10 a.m today, said:
“That Tinubu Bola Ahmed of the APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.”
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP came in second with 6,984,520 votes, while the candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, scored 6,101,533.
