IPOB, ESN After Me – DCP Abba Kayri
Embattled former head of the Nigeria Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team, IRT, DCP Abba Kayri has accused members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and the secessionist armed group known as Eastern Security Network, ESN of working tirelessly to smear his reputation because of the onslaught he led other Security Operatives to launch against them in the Southeastern states of the country.
Abba Kayri in a police report obtained and published today by the PUNCH Newspaper, stated this before the Police panel set up to investigate him over allegations of criminal conspiracy and other crude offences.
It would be recalled Abba Kyari was suspended last year July, following allegation of links with alleged international fraudster, Ramon Abass known as Hushpuppi.
On Monday, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA declared Abba Kayri wanted over allegation of stealing 25 kilograms of cocaine seized from suspects at the Enugu International Airport and attempt to bribe an official of the NDLEA who played along and organized a sting operation where Abba Kayri was video recorded.
Abba Kayri carried out this alleged criminal act last month, January 2022 while already serving suspension and under police investigation over FBI request for his extradition following links of allegation of international fraud leveled against by Hushpupi.

“The officer did not deny violating social media (policy) of the police. The officer (Kyari) stated that ‘It is a campaign to smear his reputation by members of IPOB/ESN who moved to destroy him due to his onslaught against them in the South-East”, the police reads in part as published.
It is yet to be ascertained when Abba Kayri made the statement before the Police panel . If it was earlier panel set up to investigate him on Hushpupi allegation last year or the recent in-house panel set up to probe him on NDLEA allegation earlier this week.
PUNCH Newspaper report also indicated that the police panel report has been sent to the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, adding, the report also reveal how members of a syndicate led by Hushpuppi paid 235, 120, 000 naira to Kyari’s younger brother.
