Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola well known as Portable has been released from Prison after he was taken to prison following his appearance in court on Monday.
Moment he was taken away from the court premises with the prison vehicle saw attendees at the Ogun State High Court ran along the moving prison vehicle, screaming as the music star and fast leg dancer appeared humble while being led to Prison.
The singer was arraigned at the court in Ifo, Ogun state for assault, theft, and unruly behaviour.
This follows his arrest on Friday after the expiration of the 72-hour ultimatum given to him by the police to turn himself in.
Portable’s ordeal with the police started last week after making an Instagram live video in which he claimed that police had attacked his bar in Sango Ota at the request of an online scammer.
The musician was invited to the Ogun State Police Command’s headquarters after the video, which has since gone viral and generated some internet controversy.
According to the Police, Portable chose to ignore the numerous invitation from them, claiming that the invitations were unwarranted because he makes his money “legitimately.”
The musician was apprehended by the police on Friday after the expiration of the 72-hour ultimatum given to him by the police to turn himself in.
After his appearance in court on Monday, he was granted bail but the judge ordered that Portable be remanded in prison pending the fulfillment of his bail condition.”
Shortly after the court arraignment, photographs of Portable were shared on his social media accounts.
The ‘Zeh’ crooner was granted bail in the sum of ₦300,000 altogether for the three charges against him, with two sureties in like sum.
The photographs were shared on Portable social media pages with caption, “Alhamdulilahi”, a word, he repeatedly said alongside the woman she thanked severally for securing his bail shortly after he was released from prison few hours ago on Monday night.
Singer Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable was released from prison, where he was earlier remanded pending the perfection of his bail conditions.
Portable was accused of resisting arrest and injuring a police officer, landed in police custody on Friday, March 31, and was subsequently arraigned in court on Monday.
A High Court in Ifo, Ogun State, however, granted Portable bail in the sum of ₦300,000 and to provide two sureties with landed properties within the court vicinity.
