Enugu state government under the leadership of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has evacuated 135 indigines of the state from University of Jos following the recent crisis in the state.
Statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Students Affairs, Chidi Ilogebe and made available by the office of the Governor few hours ago indicated that 37 evacuated students returned safely to Enugu yesterday, 28 were conveyed to Abuja to join their loved ones while others were taken to their various homes within Plateau and surrounding areas based on their requests, amid tight security.
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State had directed the evacuation of the 135 indigenes from the state schoooling at the University of Jos following the recent crisis in Jos, Plateau State capital.
It would be recalled Punch Newspaper reported on Friday that Students of the University of Jos, Plateau State raised alarm over the continued attacks on them by hoodlums, whom they said had killed four students in the last five days.

Also, over 400 indigenes of Benue State studying at the University of Jos in Plateau State were on Friday evacuated from the tertiary institution by the state government following the unrest in the Plateau state capital according to Alabar Int’n Tersoo Clement, the media aide to the commissioner of Education, Benue state, Professor Dennis Ityavyar.
Clement said the students who were conveyed with about 25 buses arrived Makurdi about 12 midnight with heavy security personnel attached to them.
The Benue State Commissioner of Education, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar received the students, expressed appreciation to God for their safety and safe return to the State.
