Nowadays Churches Do More Of Financial Marketing Than Banks__Pastor Reno Omokri #OsazuwaAkonedo
Reno Omokri, Pastor at Mind of Christ Christian Centre and former presidential aide on New Media to Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has called on founders and General Overseers of Churches in Nigeria to use the proceed of the church to help the poor and stop allowing the poor to feed them and their pastors through all manners of financial marketing.
Reno Omokri who made the appeal today said it is sad to note that many churches now do more of marketing than banks.
According to Reno Omokri, the poor are paying more to feed pastors through financial marketing strategies of seed sowing, first fruit, special offering among other financial products.
“Sadly, and I say this with a broken heart, many of today’s churches do marketing more than banks.
“They market seed sowing, first fruit, special offering, and one financial product after the other.
“May we not forget that God’s favourite seed is soul winning. Money has its place.
“We need it to fund the Gospel. But money must be a means to an end, and not an end in itself.
“The thing about money and material things is that if we prioritise God, God will prioritise our needs.
“There is profit in serving God when you don’t serve Him for profit.
“Churches should feed the poor.
“The poor shouldn’t feed pastors.
“The essence of Christianity is to win souls, not financial breakthrough.
“Christ following is about salvation, not wealth.

“What shall it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul.
“When cash calls are more common than altar calls, we must examine ourselves.
“When tithe talk is more than right talk, we should turn to face the Light.
“We have made money so important that wealth is now sadly seen as evidence God is pleased with a man!”, he said.
