
Proceeds Of Crime Bill: Justice Ministry, ANEEJ To Parley National Assembly, NGF #OsazuwaAkonedo
Federal Ministry of Justice and Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice, ANEEJ have planned to parley with members of the National Assembly for the passage of Proceeds of Crime Bill.
Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice, ANEEJ team led by its Executive Director, Reverend David Ugolor in a meeting this morning with the officials of Asset Recovery and Management Unit of the Federal Ministry of Justice also use the occasion to present copies of the Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice, ANEEJ policy briefs entitled; “The Extant Regime for Asset Recovery and Management in Nigeria: Development, Challenges and Prospects” to the ministry.
According to the Executive Director of Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice, ANEEJ, Reverend David Ugolor the campaign for the passage of the Proceeds of Crime Bill is part of the Civil society Advocacy Support for Anti-corruption and Rule of law in Nigeria, CASARN and the implementation of the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption, ROLAC projects funded by the European Union as enforced by the British Council.
Reverend David Ugolor added that the civil society and the Ministry of Justice will also lobby members of the Nigeria Governors Forum, N.G.F for the passage of the Proceeds of Crime Bill.

“Both institutions agreed to continue to work together to lobby the National Assembly to pass the Proceeds of Crime bill and also reach out (to) the Nigeria Governor’s Forum, N.G.F to strengthen Asset Recovery Policy in Nigeria”, David Ugolor said in quote.

The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Justice Asset Recovery and Management Unit Director, Mrs. Ladid B. Mohammed ably represented by Mrs. Bunmi Naiyeju-Adelaiye and Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice, ANEEJ team led by Reverend David Ugolor include Comrade Leo Atakpu, Paul Odokara and Mrs. Martha Onose.
