
Governor Obaseki Suspends Farming Activities In Sabogida-Ora #OsazuwaAkonedo

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has suspended farming activities in Sabogida-Ora and Uhonmora following land disputes leaading to destruction of lives and properties in the area.
Governor Obaseki gave the order yesterday when visited Sabogida-Ora, the Owan West Local Government Area for a fact finding mission and meetings with stakeholders in the community,.
Governor Obaseki who was accompanied by security chiefs said he will consult to know whether to set up a commission of enquiry, Tribunal or just panel of enquiry to address the dispute.
“Earlier today, I went on a fact finding mission in Sabongida-Ora to find out the problem concerning the land dispute in Saboginda-Ora and Uhonmora that resulted in the killings of persons in these communities.
“As a way to mitigate the effects of this dispute, I ordered that all the lands affected must be vacated immediately.
“Farming or any other activity must be suspended until a decision is reached on the matter.
“I will consult to find out and evaluate whether we would set up a Commission of Enquiry, Tribunal of Enquiry or just a Panel of Enquiry.
“We would decide and give everyone the opportunity to air their views on how it will be resolved permanently.
“I appeal to the youths and elders of Sabongida-Ora and Uhonmora communities to allow peace reign”, he said.
