No serious minded Commander-in-Chief will want to see his chief of Defence Staff personally at the air port to ceremonially welcome him back from oversea trip when the country is obviously in gorillar war.
The PUNCH newspaper in its report yesterday captured the fact that Buhari had on March 30 departed Abuja for London, United Kingdom, for a routine medical check-up.
The presidential aircraft conveying the president and some aides landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at about 4.45 p.m yesterday.
Those at the airport to welcome the president included the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Muhammed Bello, and the National Security Adviser to the President, retired Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno.
Others were the service chiefs, acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, the Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufa’i, the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi, and other presidential aides.
After a brief welcoming ceremony at the airport, Buhari boarded a presidential helicopter that conveyed him to the Aso Rock.

The manner with which the Chief of Defence staff, Lucky Irabor and other service chiefs including the acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba had enough time to ceremonially wait at the Air Port for the return of President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday tells alot that some offices have been made seemingly useless in Nigeria.
While President Muhammadu Buhari was away for short rest in London, gunmen took over Imo state, attacked several police staions and federal correctional centre and freed 1,844 prisoners.
Till now, we are yet to know the gunmen which by now that should be isssue more disturbing to the commander-in-chief and the chief of Defence Staff and other security chiefs.
If they were really occupeid with this issue, probably they will not have time to be in air port for military and non military cultural display and welcoming ceremony for President Muhammadu Buhari.

Also, if President Muhammadu Buhari is concerned about the safety of lives and properties in Nigeria, the chief of Defence Staff and other service chiefs should have been occupied with assignments as command-in-chief he has ordered them to execute.
Twelve soldiers were killed in Benue while President Muhammadu Buhari flew out of the country for a short rest.
The killers of the soldiers up till now the military authority have not been able to give account.
If Muhammadu Buhari is still responsible enough to be called President, the military atrocities in Benue State over the killing of twelve soldiers should have made him to humbly return from London into Aso Rock without any ceremonial meeting, parade or party.
He should have called the Chief of Defence Staff, the Defence boss will inform him that he’s in a vulnerable area trying to fix things rather President Muhammadu Buhari body language seemingly forcing the service chiefs to abandon national duty for welcoming ceremony even when the walls of the nation is cracking.
President Muhammadu Buhari must have been guity of turning the office of the Nigeria Number One Seat of Power to that of an emperor because most of the time he returns from oversea trip, all the service chiefs must abandoned their duty for welcoming ceremony for him at the air port.

This has cast more doubt if Muhammadu Buhari is still acting as a Prisident or he’s now performing the role of semi-god Head of government.
