Former Nigeria beauty queen, Mrs Iyom Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu early this morning revealed why it took over 12 years of courtship with three children before she was allowed to marry Nigeria civil war Lord and Commander-in-Chief of the then Republic of Biafra, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
Bianca whose news of dating the civil war lord, Chukwuemeka Ojukwu spread across several gossip corners in Nigeria and international arena in 1989; gave birth to three children before her father, former old Anambra State Governor, Christian Onoh well known as C.C Onoh accepted her marriage with Ojukwu on April 16, 2001.
Bianca, acting against her father consent in 1994 held a church wedding with Chukwuemeka Ojukwu in Abuja with lavished ceremony.
The Church blessed the courtship and both acted as husband and wife.
After the Church wedding ceremony, it took seven years before Bianca’s father, Christian Onoh accepted and consented to the marriage request from his political associate and Nigeria Civil War lord, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu who was over 30 years older than Bianca.
Bianca lost her dad in 2009 and her husband in 2011.
Bianca in her words this morning said thus:
“On this day, 20 years ago, all roads led to the hilltop town of Ngwo in Enugu State for the momentous event tagged ‘IGBA NKWU BIANCA’.

“12 years in wait, 7 years after our wedding and 3 children later, the father of the bride said ‘Yes’!.
“Enugu was shutdown by a mammoth crowd as people from far and wide, distinguished personalities from all over the country as well as all the governors of the South Eastern States stormed the legendary ‘Okwor’s Fortress’, the ancient stone palace of the late High Chief Gabriel Okwor Onoh, Father of Chief C.C. Onoh, to witness this significant event.
“It was nothing short of a carnival!
“On this Landmark anniversary, I pay tribute to my father Chief C.C. Onoh whose initial resistance and tenacity helped oil the wheels to propel what would eventually become a highly successful marriage…
“My husband was determined to prove himself a worthy son-in-law…
“And I also celebrate my knight in shining armor, Dim oma, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu for validating the choice I made, for being a wonderful husband and a devoted father to our children….Oga m, Gi nwe aka!
“Here are just some of the pictorial memories of that spectacular day”.
