Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Callistus Onaga has demanded a week long sober prayer from all Catholic faithfuls in Enugu Diocese over the desecration and vandalization of the Diocesan Bishop residents by protesters who demanded the unconditional release of Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka yesterday.
Bishop Callistus Onaga made the demand in a letter personally signed and addressed to all Parishes, Chaplaincies and Religious Houses in the Catholic Diocese of Enugu and made available to newsmen few hours ago.
It would be recalled President Muhammadu Buhari have been having media battles with his long time supporter, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka when Mbaka demanded President Muhammadu Buhari to resign or be impeached by the National Assembly over rising insecurity in Nigeria.
Buhari in a statement signed by one of his Spokespersons, Garba Shehu said Mbaka called for Buhari impeachment out of selfish interest.

Garba Shehu added that Mbaka is angered because of the contract he asked from Buhari as a form of compensation of being a good supporter of the President in 2015/2019 general elections was not granted.
Parishioners and workers at the Adoration Ministry where Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka is the Spiritual Director, raised alarm yesterday that Mbaka have been declared missing after honouring Bishop Onaga invitation on Tuesday.
The church members protested to the Bishop Callistus Onaga residents and stayed until Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka was released.
Mbaka while addressing the protesters, said the Catholic Diocese wants him to stay off from church activities for one month but he refused and was denied the freedom to make phone call or contact any body.

According Bishop Callistus Onaga, followers of Reverend Father Camillus Ejike Mbaka of Adoration Ministry, Enugu on Wednesday violently broke into the diocesan Cathedral Church and desecrated the Holy Altar of Sacrifice and brutally vandalized the diocesan Bishop resident, the Cathedral parish house and secretariat building.
Bishop Callistus Onaga in the letter thereafter asked all Catholic faithfuls to pray for wrong doing in a week long programme tagged “Prayer of Atonement and Reparation”.
Bishop Callistus Onaga said the prayer is to commence tomorrow, May 7 to May 14, 2021.

Bishop Callistus Onaga said in quote: “I enjoin you to remain sober and keep the diocese in prnyer.
“With divine assistance and grace, we shall overcome this challenging moment”
