Buhari And The Empty Speech Again

Nothing could be so annoying to see a President repeating and announcing and thus tormenting his people with their problems.

A nation wide broadcast, many believed it’s an opportunity for the President to issue specific directive to address specific problems bedeviling the people, Muhammadu Buhari used this early morning nation wide broadcast to remind the people of their problems.

Before Muhammadu Buhari became President in 2015, his popular slogan and promises has been ‘I will fight insecurity. I will fight corruption. I will focus on economy’

Sad to observe in today’s nation wide broadcast, same Muhammadu Buhari after five years in office is still promising.

No clear policy on how he intend to address these aforementioned problems.

The aforementioned problems have continued to wax stronger and they have become worst under the watch and supervision of Muhammadu Buhari.

The only policy statement Muhammadu Buhari made prior to today’s nation wide broadcast is that Revenue Agencies must meet their budgeted target of inflicting more wounds on Nigerians.

The revenue agencies must ensure that the increased taxation that would further create more economic hardship in the country are meant.

This is what matters to President Muhammadu Buhari.

He continued to pretend as if he means well for the people while directly or indirectly making things more difficult for the people.

How can President be talking about taxation on eve of new year when the foregoing year was a hand full of economic hardship to the people; if the president is merely not a self serving human being.

Appointed and sent by enemies of Nigeria to destroy the nation.

I was shock to watch and read yesterday a statement credited to the President that 2020 approved budget was 97 percent implemented.

This is sad.

Someone ask me where is the development in Nigeria in 2020.

OsazuwaAkonedo in several reports have indicated that the Muhammadu Buhari style of budgeting is mostly for personal non developmental gains.

The 2021 budget for example has little or no room for development or progress for the nation.

The budget is mainly prepared in a way to finance and enrich fewer people in government; mostly those occupying political offices.

The budget have a deficit of over N8 trillion.

Muhammadu Buhari will borrow N4 trillion to finance a budget that is mainly designed to pay allowances to fewer people in government.

Nigeria current debt profile is over N32 trillion.

Muhammadu Buhari will further go very hard on businesses to collect more taxes to cover up the deficit.

This explain why the government has been increasing taxes and public tariff since late last year.

Fuel pump price and electricity tariff have continued to go high since last year.

The resultant effects have badly and negatively increased cost of foodstuffs and other essential commodities in the country.

Gino tin tomatoes rise from N50 to N150 in many of the markets visited in Nigeria.

Price of foodstuff increased with over 200 percent.

Thus cost of living in the country has been on the high side.

This is the same Muhammadu Buhari that came out this morning to say he wants to fight and make the economy better.

How can Muhammadu Buhari make the economy better when he’s the same person creating the problem.

Can a problem be a solution to a problem

For instance, in the 2021 budget, the officials of the National Social Investment Office, NSIO will use over N7 billion as welfare package under the overhead cost.

While University of Benin is being budgeted to spend less than that amount to pay salaries and wages in 2021.

UNIBEN is budgeted to spend N3.6 billion as salaries and wages under personnel cost.

NSIO is mostly political. The office is set up at the discretion of Mr. President.

The only and irrelevant work function of NSIO is to ensure and promote Buhari government school feeding, distribution of tradermoni, marketmoni amongst others.

If President Muhammadu Buhari came out today in a Nation wide broadcast to announce his resignation, his name may forever remain in gold in the history of Nigeria people.
