
Police Invade My House, N2.260M Community Project Fund Missing___Man Cries Out

The crisis between Igue Ero and Iwu Communities, all in Ovia North East local government Area of Edo State have taken a new dimension as the house of the son of the Odionwele of Igue Ero , Charles Egharevba was said to be invaded by men of the Nigeria Police Force early hours yesterday.
The police men were said to have stormed the Odionwele ‘s son resident at about 1. 30am , shooting and breaking doors in order to force their way into the compound.
Narrating the incident, the Odionwele son, Charles Egharevba, said, the men came in two Hilux Vehicles to his house and gained entrance by breaking the gate into his apartment and that of his neighbours which was not spared.
According to him, “My parlour and rooms were turned upside down with the sum of 2.260m naira which the community kept with me for the building of the primary school and grading of the road were removed”

“We have been having dispute with Iwu Community, some people want to continue with CDA which government have banned. So they are threatening us because Government have stopped CDA which they were feeding on.
“The suspected gunmen which I was later told in the day by my lawyer were Police men from anti kidnapping department”, he said.

Egharevba called on the state government and the Benin Monarch, Oba Ewuare 11, to come to his aid as his life is under threat.
Efforts to reach Edo state police command for comment proved abortive.
