Muting Lai Mohammed As A Clog In The Wheel Of War
Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed today amidst imminent tribal war in Nigeria organized his first press conference for the year 2021.
Lai Mohammed took advantage of the press conference to be comparing Muhammadu Buhari government with that of his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan.
Lai Mohammed boosted with the achievement of military against insecurity in the country in a manner many considered the minister and Buhari government as a whole to be insensitive to the plight of the people.
Many said the Minister is fully aware of ethnic tension in the country most recently since on Saturday and wondered why he seemingly decided to be making undue comparisons with Jonathan government at this point in time when there is imminent ethnic war in the country.

Thus the Minister is considered expanding or spreading the imminent ethnic war by way of adding the Ijaws to the sentiment already brewing crisis between Fulani herdsmen and the Yorubas in Ondo and Oyo states.
It would be recalled since on Saturday when a statement credited to President Muhammadu Buhari Senior Media Assistant, Garba Shehu that the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has given order to the Oyo state police commissioner to arrest and onward transfer Sunday Igboho to Abuja for leading Yoruba youths to sack Fulani herdsmen in Igangan on Friday.
Sunday Igboho has earlier given seven days ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen to leave Igangan over incessant criminal activities allegedly traceable to the herders.
The seemingly poorly managed information by Garba Shehu heightened ethnic tension and brewing imminent ethnic war in the country since on Saturday with many drawing conclusion that President Muhammadu Buhari is emotionally attached to Fulani herdsmen and possibly given presidential cover to the Fulani herdsmen to continue to destroy lives and properties in the country.

This, the leader of Indigenous people of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu threatened the life of the Oyo State commissioner of police, Ngozi Onadeko and her family if anything happened to Sunday Igboho.
Nnamdi Kanu in the statement said the government is trying to use the Igbo born commissioner of police to incite and cause ethnic war between the Igbo and Yorubas. And thereafter urged the police commissioner to resign her appointment in disobedience to the said order to arrest Sunday Igboho.
In addition to the brewing ethnic crisis, Nnamdi Kanu said he will be addressing youths of the Middle Belt, Hausa, Karnem-Bornu and other ethnic nationalities this evening.
As at press time today, there are reported deaths between soldiers and civilians in Olu houses of Imo State.
Nnamdu Kanu threatened to start revolution at Imo State Government House tonight over the killing of civilians at Orlu Houses of the state.
This as that, the Minister said he will continue the regular media briefing at this auspicious time in the country even when he knows; unlike many other previous ministers of information in the country, Lai Mohammed words are usually considered offensive and from all assessments, are usually greeted with hate and dissatisfaction from many Nigerians.

The minister said thus; “We have decided to kick start our regular media briefings this year with the issue of security, which is one of the three major priority areas of this administration – the others being the economy and the fight
against corruption.
“In the words of Mr. President, insecurity as a
challenge has direct repercussions on our national economic stability,
growth, and development”.
We are concerned such briefings from Lai Mohammed may polarized the insecurity in the country.
