Abuda Will Not Die In Vain, Group Warns

THE ABDUCTION AND KILLING OF AN ILLUSTRIOUS SON OF FUGAR AND EDO, PRINCE DENNIS ELONIYO ABUDA

The Fugar Progressive Union (FPU), the apex socio-cultural umbrella body of all Fugar people (Fugarians) of Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State, worldwide, strongly condemns in its entirety, the gruesome murder of one of our illustrious sons, Prince Dennis Eloniyo Abuda, by suspected kidnappers.

On Saturday 30th of January 2021, the FPU received the shocking and sad news of the abduction of three of our sons, Prince Dennis Eloniyo Abuda, Chief David Ogheakhe and Mr. Richard Bologi by suspected kidnappers.

Around Ahor village along the Benin bye-pass in Edo State on their way to Lagos State where Prince Dennis Eloniyo Abuda who is also an American citizen and President of Fugar- American Foundation which is an affiliate and partner of the FPU was due to take his return flight to his base in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States of America to rejoin his family, after the celebration of the yuletide season in Fugar.

Sadly, after the release of the abducted Fugarians in the evening of Tuesday 2nd of February 2021 by their abductors on payment of a ransom, Prince Dennis Eloniyo Abuda was not released.

This necessitated the deployment of a search party by the law enforcement agencies on Wednesday 3rd of February 2021, to comb the Ahor village forest, in search of Prince Dennis Eloniyo Abuda and in the course of the search the lifeless body of Prince Dennis Eloniyo Abuda was discovered and retrieved.

The FPU mourns the death of Prince Dennis Eloniyo Abuda and denounce the kidnapping of the three Fugarians that led to the gruesome murder.

The FPU however appeals for calm from all Fugarians and Edo citizens as we humbly call on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to direct the Inspector General of Police and all the other security agencies operating in Edo State to unravel and bring the perpetrators of this dastardly and heinous crime to justice within the shortest possible time.

We also call on the Government of the United States of America to intervene in the death of Prince Dennis Eloniyo Abuda by supporting the government of Nigeria in this regard.

We also appeal to the Governor of Edo State to continue to work with the relevant stakeholders to strengthen the security network to protect Fugarians, Fugar and the entire citizens of the state from the incessant attacks by these criminal elements.

Prince Eloniyo Abuda was one of our finest from Fugar and Edo state and we must not allow him to die in vain.

We therefore call on the Edo State Government and the Etsako Central Local Government Authority, to immortalise Prince Dennis Eloniyo Abuda.

And most importantly use his death as an opportunity to put an end to the Security nightmare of Fugarians, the residents of the state and travellers accross the state.
