Political and human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju has condemned the security breach at the Nigerian Defence Academy at Afaka in Kaduna state this morning.
Deji said if bandits can kill 3 Nigeria soldiers and thereafter kidnapped other officers inside army barrack, it means the bandits will soon start kidnapping governors in Nigeria.
Deji added that for those who know Nigerian Academy very well, it is unthinkable that bandits can invade the place lest to say kill and kidnap soldiers.
For those of us that know Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna very well, it remains unthinkable that bandits can invade the place, kill 3 soldiers, then kidnap other officers. If bandits can abduct soldiers in their own barrack, they will soon start abducting Governors.Deji said.
It would be recalled Nigerian Army authority few hours ago confirmed the killing of two soldiers and the kidnapping of another personnel by people the Army described as unknown gunmen.
Nigerian Army in a statement signed by Major Bashir Muhd Jajira, the Defence Academy Public Relations officer, the security architecture of the Nigerian Defence Academy was compromised early this morning by unknown gunmen who gained access into the residential area within the Academy in Afaka and during which two personnel were killed and one was abducted.
‘The Academy in collaboration with the 1 Division (of) Nigerian Army and Air Training Command as well as other security agencies in Kaduna state has since commenced pursuit of the unknown gunmen within the general area with a view to tracking them and rescue the abducted personnel.
“The NDA community and Cadets are safe in the Academy. We assure the general public that this unknown gunmen would soon be apprehended and the abducted personnel rescued”, Major Bashir said.
