Goods worth millions of naira including more than 10 houses with locked up shops suddenly started burning today at Nkwogbe market in Ihiala, Anambra state shortly after group of people set ablaze two suspected thieves.
The two suspected thieves, it was gathered attempted to steal a motorcycle at a popular plaza in the Ihiala town when the owner raised alarm and the suspects were mobbed to death.
As at the time of filling in this report, the burnt remains of the suspected thieves were still visible with vehicles matching the dead bodies along the Onitsha-Owerri road.
Eyewitness said one of the suspected thieves ran with the burning tyre until he fell down in front of a fuel station where he finally gave up the ghost.
The other suspect also set ablaze died in front of Total filling station.
While people were watching the suspected thieves as they burn, suddenly, it was gathered; people started noticing fire inside the Nkwogbe market.

The fire inside the market started burning so strongly that between 12 and 2pm, more than 10 houses with locked up shops along the Orlu-Ihiala road were completely razed down.
Efforts to put off the fire proved abortive until rain started falling.
Almost all the shops inside the market and goods were burned to ashes.
