Osinbajo Takes 66th Birthday Party To Borno, Celebrates With Boko Haram Victims
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN and his wife, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo on Wednesday took his 66th birthday celebration party to Borno State, to mark the day with children said to become orphans as a result of Boko Haram and Iswap insurgency in the Northeastern Nigeria.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was received by the Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum who also attended the birthday celebration with other guests with the Students of the Learning Centre of the North East Children’s Trust Fund in Maiduguri, Borno State on 8th March, 2023.
Professor Yemi Osinbajo in his thank you message after the birthday celebration said thus:
“I am eternally grateful to God for the gift of life and the grace to be an instrument of impact. I turned into the 66th chapter of my life today, hoping to have a solemn time in God’s presence, and share merry moments with my children at the North East Children’s Trust (NECT) in Borno State, but providence intervened and I am grateful for it regardless.
“While I observed a quiet morning devotion service at the Presidential Villa with a plan to travel to Borno afterward, my members of staff were scheming behind the scenes.
“The fruit of their plans became apparent to me at the Abuja airport, where I was ambushed by aides, associates, and members the choir who serenaded me with singing and joyous celebrations
“To say I was surprised would be an understatement.
“I then proceeded to Borno State as planned, to spend some time with my children at the @nect_ng Learning Center, a private-sector led charity and social engineering initiative created to nurture and empower vulnerable children between the ages of five 5 and 18 years who have become orphans as a result of the insurgency in North-East Nigeria.
“I thank everyone for their kind wishes and I pray that we all grow in leaps and bounds as we proceed deeper into the year”.
