Peter Obi: Mbaka, Now A Pastor Without A Church, Congregation
Chief spiritual prophetic political campaigner that convinced most Nigerians to vote for Muhammadu Buhari to become President in 2015, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, has been held incommunicado and Catholic faithfuls and priests banned from receiving messages from him.
The decision to hold Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka incommunicado was reached in a letter personally signed by the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Callistus Onaga.
It would be recalled that Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka was transferred from Enugu G.R.A worship center to Emene, following the active role he played during the 2015 general election that helped Muhammadu Buhari to become Nigeria President.
Aside that, subsequently, Bishop Callistus Onaga took more further to issue warnings including suspension as a way to stop Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, from continuous using Prophetic statement as a way of involving into political matters in Nigeria.
In 2015 general election, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka used prophetic statement to campaign against the person of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, saying, the then President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has failed to stop insecurity in the country, adding, Muhammadu Buhari, should be voted in, that the military ex general would address insecurity in the country.
Premium Times news media in one of its news reports on Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka attack on Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in 2015 reads thus:
“Outspoken Catholic priest, Ejike Mbaka, has told Nigerians to use the forthcoming general election to vote out President Goodluck Jonathan.
“Speaking to thousands of parishioners at his Adoration Prayer Ground in Enugu, Thursday, Mr. Mbaka said President Jonathan had failed to stem the tide of insecurity and corruption in the country.
“In the video, uploaded to You Tube, the priest said that although Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate is a Muslim, he would bring the needed change in Nigeria.
“The PUNCH further quoted the priest as saying, “I love President Goodluck Jonathan and I used to be his ardent fan, but I want good for my people and that’s why I want Nigerians to vote out Goodluck Jonathan and vote General Muhammad Buhari.
“I don’t care if Buhari is a Muslim and from the North; all I care about is that Buhari can save Nigeria.”
“Mr. Mbaka, renowned for his blunt sermons, has a huge followership in the South East of Nigeria, where thousands of Catholics throng to his prayer ground for healing and miracles.
“The Catholic priest had a running battle with Chimaroke Nnamani, the former Governor of Enugu State, over his scathing criticisms of the government leading to the governor allegedly sending assassins after him.
“He also strongly campaigned against Ikedi Ohakim, who was Governor of Imo State, between 2007 and 2011, after the latter allegedly whipped a Catholic priest in public.
“The governor lost his reelection bid in 2011”.
Same strategy, same technique, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka during the week lambasted the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, describing the presidential candidate as a stingy man who will put Nigerians more in hunger due to his alleged stingy tendency.
This time, Nigerians rebuked Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka and called him names including, referring to him as a fake prophet of God.
The angry Nigerians agreed that Peter Obi kind of stinginess is needed to solve Nigeria problems.
The Catholic Diocese of Enugu in a statement titled, ‘Disclaimer; Re: Inflammatory Political Utterances by Father Camillus Ejike Mbaka,’ jointly signed by Very Reverend Father Wilfred Chidi Agubuchie, Chancellor/Secretary; Very Reverend Father Geoffrey Aguigwo, Vicar General; and Auxiliary Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Reverend Ernest Anezichukwu Obodo, on Thursday, warned Mbaka to refrain from making further provocative prophecies or utterances capable of heating up the polity.
Mbaka thereafter apologized to Peter Obi but noted in his apology letter, that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari he had earlier in 2015 prophetically declared as a God sent administration, has brought undescribable, unbearable level of insecurity, sufferings to Nigerians.
“As it stands right now, it is obvious that Nigeria is passing through an indescribable insecurity, inestimable unemployment, massive corruption, heinous crimes and unbearable suffering engendered by bad leadership”, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka said, stating the current condition Muhammadu Buhari government has caused Nigerians in a letter of apology written to Peter Obi.
While placing sanction of incommunicado on Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Callistus Onaga noted as follows:

“In the light of the happenings in the Catholic Adoration Ministry Chaplaincy Enugu; capable of undermining the Catholic faith and teachings; and after several fraternal corrections and admonitions to Father Camillus Ejike Mbaka, the Chaplain of the Ministry.
“And after having given him pastoral directives and guidelines for the Ministry Chaplaincy, which he persistently violated; and in fulfilment of my pastoral duties as the Chief Shepherd with the obligation to promote and safeguard the Catholic faith and morals in Enugu Diocese, I hereby prohibit all Catholics (clergy, religious and lay faithful) henceforth from attending all religious and liturgical activities of the Adoration Ministry until the due canonical process initiated by the Diocese is concluded.
“I enjoin all the Christian Faithful to keep praying for Father Mbaka and the Catholic Diocese of Enugu as I entrust him and the Diocese to the maternal care and protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of the Apostles,”
