Police, Vigilante Go Hard On Criminals In Edo

The Vigilante Group and Joint Task Force in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area yesterday apprehended a criminal gang at Ukhiri Community in Ward 8 of the LGA.

The operation came following a tip-off communicated to the Ikpoba-Okha Vigilante Group which immediately swung into action accompanied by the JTF

The criminal gang which has been terrorizing Ukhiri Community and environs dispersed into the bush upon sighting the Vigilante and JTF, 4 of them however, were caught by the Ikpoba-Okha Vigilante Force

Amongst items recovered from the robbers are double barrel, bags of live cartridges, 3 vehicles.

As at the time of filing in this report, the Vigilante and JTF were still in the bush in search of the other gang members at large.

The robbers have been handed over to the State criminal investigation department for further action.

The Ikpoba-Okha LG Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande has reiterated that the LGA will no longer be a safe haven for criminal tendencies.
