
Ramadan: Kano Bans ‘Keke’, Illegal Horse Riding, Fireworks

Kano State Police Command under the leadership of CP Mamman Dauda, congratulates the Muslim Umma for witnessing yet another Holy Month of Ramadan as security arrangements have been put in place to ensure a free and successful Ramadan fasting and beyond.
Kano State being the Commercial Hub Centre of the Country, visitors are expected from within and outside the Country, especially in preparation for Eid-El-Fitr.
The Command has re-strategized the security architecture, thereby calling on the good people of the State to heed the following advice;
i. The ban on the use of Tricycles from 10pm to 6am is still in force. The Command in synergy with sister security agencies and traffic enforcement agencies has been tasked to arrest violators.
ii. Illegal Horse Riding (Kilisa) and the use of Fireworks (Knock-out or Bangers) are banned, and violators will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
iii. People attending Masjid and Tafsir Centres during the Holy Month should be extra vigilant by taking cognizance of people and objects around, with a view to reporting any suspicious item or movement to security agencies.
iv. Road users are advised to strictly obey traffic rules and regulations, and avoid reckless and dangerous driving, over speeding and car racing, so as to minimize cases of accidents.
Members of the public are urged to use this session to pray for the State and the Nation, and to continue to report any suspicious person(s) or item(s) to the nearest Police Station/security outfit for necessary action or call the Command’s emergency lines as follows; 08032419754, 08123821575, 09029292926.
