Stay Off The Road, We Will Engage Nigerian Army From Today – Simon Ekpa
Factional leader agitating for the Declaration of Biafra Republic, Simon Ekpa has called on residents in the Southeastern states and other locations considered as Biafra land to stay off the road as Biafra armed group will start engaging the men of the Nigerian Army today, Thursday 23, February 2023, being the date for the commencement for the six days sit-at-home earlier declared by the Finland based Biafra agitator.
Simon Ekpa disclosed this in a tweet on Wednesday evening.
There have been series of attacks on Nigeria Police Force facilities in the southeast states particularly in Anambra daily in recent weeks.
The attacks were carried out by Unknown Gunmen suspected to be Biafra secessionist armed group, trying to enforce no election in the Southeast states ahead of the coming Saturday general elections in Nigeria.
Police stations in Ogidi, Awada, 3 3, Obosi, among others have been attacked by Unknown Gunmen in recent days, some of which, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO and other policemen were killed and facilities burnt down.
While attacks carried out by Unknown Gunmen on Nigeria Police Force in recent days appear very high, Nigeria Army have been regrouping and building more base and security facilities across several locations in the Southeast states.
It appears the Unknown Gunmen had paid more attention on attacking men of the Nigeria Police Force and their facilities.
But Simon Ekpa in a statement yesterday said the Biafra armed group will start from today, engage men of the Nigerian Army.
“Following the threat from Nigeria “repentant” Boko Haram and Nigeria Taliban serving in various capacities in the security agencies in Nigeria.
“The Biafra Government in Exile and security committee had a security meeting and we have raised the defence of Biafra territory.
“To considerable level from tomorrow as the Nigerian Army has issued threat to Biafrans of bloody nose from tomorrow.
“We therefore call on all Biafra civilians to stay off the streets from 6 a.m tomorrow as planned.
“The Biafra Liberation Army will be ready for yet another self and territorial defence.
“Civilians must be very security conscious against these state terrorists. You all know how they operate, their desperation has always led them to kill, maim & burn your villages and houses.
“Maintain the sit at home so that the Nigeria terrorists army will not see who to kill.
“Remember for the fact that you have registered your readiness to Exit Nigeria by sitting at home for the past 19 months, you remain an enemy to them.
“The sit at home starts tomorrow 23.2.2023 and ends 28.2.2023. Together we will make this history & free ourselves from British slavery called Nigeria”, Simon Ekpa said.
