A media practitioner with Channel One in Russia, Maria Ovsiannikova took advantage of the hour of news broadcast in the station to protest against President Vladimir Putin declared war in Ukraine.
While the newscaster was reading through the teleprompter, broadcasting the news, the female protester said to be the news editor of the TV station came in from behind and visibly displayed a placard with inscription: “Stop The War, Don’t Believe The Propaganda”
It was gathered that before the woman, Maria Ovsiannikova stormed the news studio she had recorded a video with a message saying: “What is going on in Ukraine is a crime.”
“Unfortunately, I have been working at Channel One. Working on Kremlin propaganda. And now I am very ashamed. I am ashamed that I’ve allowed the lies to be said on the TV screens. That I let the Russian people be zombified.”
Reports from Moscow indicated that Maria Ovsiannikova has been arrested and detained by Russian police after accused of of going police detained Marina Ovsyannikova, the editor of Channel One who showed discrediting the russian armed forces.
