
Terrorists Invade Sunday Church Service In Ondo, Kill 85
Death toll of Sunday Church Service attack at Owo in Ondo State by terrorists suspected to be Fulani herdsmen has risen to 85.
Onlookers at the Government and some private hospitals in Owo informed the media that some of the victims rushed to the hospital have died.
It was gathered that the terrorists suspected to be Fulani herdsmen had invaded St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in Owo town, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State capital, locked the worshipers inside the church with rain of gun bullets for over 30 minutes.
Early videos from the scene of crime shows motionless bodies numbering about 50 with larger numbers of those who sustained gunshots injuries rushed to the hospital.
Reverend Father Andrew Abayomi, one of the priests at St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, Owo, Ondo State, had reportedly said that the terrorists struck as the day’s service was about to end.
“We were about to round off service. I had even asked people to start leaving, that was how we started hearing gunshots from different angles.”
“We hid inside the church but some people had left when the attack happened. We locked ourselves in the church for 20 minutes. When we heard that they had left, we opened the church and rushed victims to the hospital”, the Reverend Father said
