President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has honoured 750 more Ukrainian men and women in the front line, defending the country against Russia invasion.
President Volodymyr Zelensky made this known few minutes ago just as reports indicated that the Ukrainian army held a military drill on Friday to prepare its soldiers for offensive actions against Russia.
According to Voice of America, V.O.A, Ukraine held the military drills Friday in an undisclosed location in the southeastern Zaporizhzhia region.
“The key goal of the training was to prepare soldiers for offensive actions, according to Ukraine’s military.
“The war is coming to a crucial juncture after a months-long Russian winter offensive that gained little ground despite the bloodiest fighting so far.
“Kyiv is preparing a counteroffensive using hundreds of tanks and armored vehicles sent by the West”, V.O.A said in it report citing Reuters.
President Volodymyr Zelensky while appreciating Ukrainian men and women defending the country, said he has since the beginning of the war in February 2022 presented state awards to honour to 45,038 men and women defending Ukraine.
He said in quote: “Recently, I signed new decrees awarding our defenders, our heroes. Almost 450 more soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ground Forces, paratroopers, Air Force, territorial defense, and over 300 more – from the National Guard, our police, State Emergency Service, and our border guards.
“In total, during the full-scale war, 45,038 Ukrainian men and women were awarded state awards. And it is evidence of the extraordinary daily heroism of our people. All those who fight for the sake of Ukraine, all those who work for our victory.
“Glory to all who are in battle for our country, at combat posts! Glory to all who train our soldiers! Glory to everyone who treats and rehabilitates after injuries, who rebuilds life after Russian shelling and occupation. Who returns our people from Russian captivity. I thank everyone in the world who helps us! It is important now. We highly appreciate it.
“Together, we are bringing the verdict for the evil state closer. We are nearing our victory.Glory to Ukraine!”
