Unknown Gunmen on Saturday invaded the country home of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP House of Representatives Candidate, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, killed numbers of relatives and aides.
The Unknown Gunmen attacked the PDP Candidate at his home in Akokwa, Imo State while planning to go out with his supporters for electioneering campaign.
The Unknown Gunmen also set ablaze some of the residential buildings and over 50 estimated PDP campaign vehicles within and outside the compound.
Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere who is also the spokesperson for Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, in an emergency distress message, seeking for rescue during the attack, said, the Unknown Gunmen came in with several vehicles and started shooting at everyone in the compound.
He said he ran into hiding during the exchange of gun fire between Security Operatives and the Unknown Gunmen.
“They brought their threat for blood flow to our homes.
“I mourn my lost family members and innocent comrades”, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere said after the attack.
Meanwhile, while the attack was ongoing, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere said:
“This is to notify the general public that this may be my last acts as a human as my house in Umukegwu Akokwa is under heavy attack currently.
“As I pen this, all the cars in my house have been sent ablaze and there is heavy shooting for the past 25 minutes.
“Painfully, as I speak to you, I saw them kill my father’s younger brother, Uncle Dan.
“I pray and call for urgent help from anybody who can help.
“The attackers are shooting at every one in the house and this is an urgent cry for help”.
