Early 2021, Nnamdi Kanu announced the formation of Eastern Security Network, ESN which he said it’s organized as self defense for the people of southeast states against Fulani herdsmen advancing from the North.
Nigerian Army believed the Unknown Gunmen terrorizing the Southeast states are members of the ESN.
But, the kidnapping of Methodist Church Nigeria Prelate, Samuel Kanu recently; created a disbelief that external invaders are among the different gang of unknown gunmen wrecking havoc in the region.
Samuel Kanu said the Unknown Gunmen that kidnapped him and collected one hundred million naira ransom from him are Fulani Herdsmen aided by the Nigerian soldiers along the Enugu-Port Harcourt express road between Lokpata and Okigwe area located between Abia and Imo states.
