
Unknown Gunmen: What I Told Buhari – Hope Uzodimma
Imo state Governor, Hope Uzodimma has given a hint of what he discussed with President Muhammadu Buhari when he was summoned on Monday by the president.
President Muhammadu Buhari had summoned Governor Hope Uzodimma over resumed activities of unknown gunmen in the state.
According to Hope Uzodimma, he briefed the President on the recent security situation in the state.
Hope Uzodimma on Monday said he told President Muhammadu Buhari how security agencies in the state repelled the launched attacks by the unknown gunmen.
It would be recalled Unknown Gunmen resumed operations in Imo state on Saturday, killing police officers and attacking numbers of Police Stations in the state including burning down the residential house of a prominent individual in the state.
Hope Uzodimma said new intelligent approaches to deal with the activities of unknown gunmen were presented to the president.
Governor Hope Uzodimma statement reads:
Today, I briefed President Muhammadu Buhari on the recent security situation and insurgence that Imo State witnessed and how our security agencies have repelled such attacks gallantly, while presenting intelligent approaches to a long lasting solution.
Concerned about the recent developments which directly affected the President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Ambassador George Obiozor, Mr. President graciously approved immediate deployment of the suggested renaissance approach.
We will continue to embrace and apply credible measures in sustaining the peace and normalcy we restored in our State.
