Delegates representing the President Joseph Biden of the United States of America, USA, have arrived Nigeria capital city, Abuja, ahead on Monday inauguration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the country’s 16th President.
US embassy in a statement few hours announced the arrival of the government delegates led by Marcia Fudge, Secretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
“Welcome to Nigeria! We are excited to receive the delegation from President Joseph Biden, led by Fudge from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, as they join us in Abuja for the inauguration of President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu”, the US Embassy in Nigeria tweeted.
It would be recalled that President Joseph R. Biden, had announced the designation of a Presidential Delegation to attend the inauguration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29, 2023, in Abuja, Nigeria.
Honorable Marcia L. Fudge, Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, was billed to lead the delegation.
Other members of the US presidential delegates include; Mr. David Greene, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., U.S. Embassy, Abuja, Honorable Sydney Kamlager-Dove, United States Representative (D), California, Honorable Marisa Lago, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, U.S. Department of Commerce, General Michael E. Langley, Commander of U.S. Africa Command, Honorable Enoh T. Ebong, Director, U.S. Trade and Development Agency, Honorable Mary Catherine Phee, Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of African Affairs, U.S. Department of State.
Also included, Honorable Judd Devermont, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for African Affairs, National Security Council and Honorable Monde Muyangwa, Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Africa, U.S. Agency for International Development.
Meanwhile, President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, arrived in Abuja on Sunday ahead of the inauguration of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, scheduled to hold on Monday.
This was announced on the president’s Facebook page, with pictures of his arrival.
The photos were captioned, “President Kagame has arrived in Abuja, Nigeria, where he will attend the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu alongside other Heads of State from around the world.”
