Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma has ordered security operatives in the state to flush out smokers and sellers of marijuana largely known as ‘igbo’ as part of efforts to curtail the insecurity in the state.
Governor Hope Uzodimma gave the order yesterday while speaking during the presentation of 100 new security vehicles to security operatives in the state.
According to the Governor, landlord who allowed their property to be used by seller and smoker of weeds and any other hard drugs will be made to face the law.
Governor Hope Uzodimma added that traditional rulers whose domain or community criminals abide and fails to report to security agencies will be seriously held accountable.
Governor Hope Uzodimma words read: I charged the security agencies to chase the criminals to their hideouts, to search and flush out all smoking joints where marijuana and other dangerous drugs are sold and used.
As a matter of emphasis, henceforth, any landlord who allows his property to be used by criminals, even smokers of weeds and other hard drugs will be answerable to the law.
In a similar manner, any traditional ruler in whose domain criminals abide and fails to report same to relevant authorities will be held seriously accountable.
