[VIDEO] Facemasks: Woman Rains Curses On EDSG Over Brute Force
Woman in viral video has rained curses on officials of Edo State Government over alleged unlawful enforcement of Covid-19 protocols in the state.
The woman which name is yet to be identified as at the time of filing in this report, accused the officials of the Edo state government of forcefully arresting her husband for not wearing face mask while the husband was said to be drinking beer in front of his shop.
The woman also alleged that the government officials stole some of her items in the shop after taking her husband away.
It would be recalled the Edo State Government in a recent road show against the spread of COVID-19 mandated the newly recruited Community Police Constables to arrest any one in breach of COVID-19 protocols most especially the wearing of face mask in the state.
Thereafter, there have been several cases of people arrested and brought before the government mobile court which they were tried and sentenced by the various mobile court magistrates.

Despite the seemingly brute force by the government, the state continued to record increases in confirmed cases of coronavirus almost on daily basis.
Many are on the opinion that government is responsible for the second wave of coronavirus spread in Nigeria.
Federal Government since December last year forced millions of Nigerians to always gather on daily basis to acquire National Identification Number at various NIN registration centres if they must continued the use of their mobile telephone.
Since then, OsazuwaAkonedo reports that between December 2020 and mid January 2021, Nigeria recorded 46.2 percent of its total confirmed cases in just one month.
Many said Edo state government officials carry out the arrest of suspected offenders of the Covid-19 protocols with bare hands without any preventive material.
The officials are often seen engaging in exchange of words and bodily contact with people while enforcing the Covid-19 protocols.
Officials of Edo State Government mobile court are seen in clusters not obeying social distancing even at the presumed court room.
It is pertinent to note that arresting and bringing any one who fails to use facemask before mobile court is seemingly totally wrong and unlawful.

Because with such action, the government is hiding under the fact of protecting lives to be endangering lives.
Both the arrested and the officers arresting the offenders are at risk of being infected with the coronavirus.
If the government not been careful, the citizens may rise up to enforce their right to life and self defense by thus refusing the police officers or any government official from arresting them.
Because such arrest is very possible as a means for the citizens to get infected with the coronavirus.
Imagine a situation where one police officer has touched several people in the course of arresting them with no proper verification if the suspect or suspects are infected already with Covid-19 is to say the obvious.

It may be more responsible if the police officers and other government officials enforced the Covid-19 protocols in a preventive way by thus stopping or preventing any one from entering public places until they put on their face mask and comply with other Covid-19 safety protocols without arresting them which possibly; further caused the spread of the coronavirus.
