We Owe Our Children A Glorious Future – Soludo Tells Unknown Gunmen
By Charles Soludo
Today, I joined Anambra Children in celebration of the international Children’s day. The theme of this year’s event is; “strengthening supportive system for the protection of the Nigerian child: A wake up call”.
Before reading President Mohammadu Buhari’s address to the Children, I took special note of the resolution of the Anambra Children’s Parliament, read by the Speaker, the eloquent young lad, Honourable Udekwe Peter Chiemerie Israel. His voice was punchy, and his points valid.
Indeed, the children deserve better, and we are committed to strengthening supportive systems that will lead to better protection for them.
We owe our children a glorious future, and this includes guiding them aright.
The colourful march past reminded me of my days as a child, and how we understood life in our innocence.
It is the height of cruelty to deny children the right to education and so my message to the criminals enforcing the mindless “Sit-at-Home” every Monday, is that if they have given up on their own future, they shouldn’t destroy the future of millions of children who need education.
We will continue to protect the rights of the children through the instrumentallity of the law.
Happy Children’s day to all Anambra children.
