Ejiro Otarigho, became a household name to many recently when he displayed some uncommon level of braveness to drive a burning fuel tanker out of a highly populated business area in Delta State to save lives.
Ejiro Otarigho in this interview with BBC Pidgin, narrated what inspired him to continue to drive the burning fuel tanker even when he had the opportunity to save his own life.
He gave a picture of how he felt when he saw the way a woman ran out of a bus while he was driving the burning fuel tanker.
He said with the way the woman ran out, he became fearless of his own life and was more concerned about saving the lives of thousands of other people who appeared to be in danger.
He said he has to do all he could to dodge and ensure he did not scratch the bus.
He said the incident occured on the June 10th, 2022 at Agbarho town in Ughelli North local government area of Delta State.
He said he got married to his new wife earlier in March this year.
