Biafra Secessionist armed group known as Biafra Revolution Army, BRA has unveiled two military services, uniforms and inaugurated new military formations.

According to self recorded videos posted online, the Prime Minister of Biafra Government In Exile, Simon Ekpa unveiled and inaugurated the new military services named: Biafra Liberation Army and Biafra Resistance Fighters on Saturday.

The videos showed the armed groups in new form of military uniforms, dancing, parading and displaying gun mounted trucks among other weapons of war in a populated areas occupied indigenes of the communities. The armed groups did not state the communities where the military parade were carried out but stated that they don’t live inside the bush, rather they live inside town.

It would be recalled that earlier in the month of September, 2023, the Biafra Revolution Army, BRA for the first time since 2021 when unknown gunmen started killings in the Southeastern part of Nigeria claimed responsibility for the September 19, 2023 attack in Imo state which led to the killing of eight security operatives including soldiers, policemen and civil defence corps.

Nigerian Army has always claimed that the attacks in the Southeast States are committed by the proscribed members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB and its armed affiliate, Eastern Security Network, ESN. But IPOB always denied and refuted the claims of the Nigerian Army. This has made media to always attribute the attacks to unknown gunmen since no group came out to claim responsibility.

The Biafra Revolution Army in a video released on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, displayed military weapons recovered from the security operatives killed previous day in Umualumaku village in Imo state. According to the BRA fighters, their forward and operating base is located along Enugu-Umuahia-Port-Harcourt road and thus asked the Armed Forces of Nigeria, AFN to come to the right location and stop disturbing the residents at Umualumaku village.

Simon Ekpa had earlier in the month of September, 2023 tweeted and said thus: “I hereby wish to share the look of the Biafra Liberation Army for the very time! Wait for the day of the official launching & unveiling! I want to assure Biafra people that your land is protected and sealed!
You can never live in IDP camp like others in different part of Nigeria as a result of Jihadists movement”

In some of the tweets Simon Ekpa posted on Saturday till Sunday morning, the Prime Minister of Biafra Government In Exile said: “The Ogbunigwe and Jaguar Battalion of the Biafra Liberation Army parade today 21.10.2023 as unveiled by the Biafra Republic Government In Exile.

“Biafra Resistance Fighters inaugurated by the Biafra Republic Government In Exile. There is joy and happiness in Biafraland. The street of Biafra is black and white. #BiafraGate3023”.

The commander of the Biafra Liberation Army, who identified himself as Lieutenant General I.B, in a tweeter post on Sunday morning described his office as the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Biafra Liberation Army.

Lieutenant General I.B in his inaugural speech said this in quote: “FROM THE OFFICE OF THE ARMY CHIEF,
BIAFRA LIBERATION ARMY AND BIAFRA
RESISTANT FIGHTERS. We wish to thank all Biafrans men, women, children and the elders in our midst, and all residents of the Biafra Republic.

“We the Liberation fighters wishes to express our gratitude towards your support morally and otherwise in evicting
the enemies invaders in our land, your useful informations has helped us to have
won this bitter war to this far. We assure you of your safety in the land of Biafra as we match to uproot the enemy base around Biafra.

“We pledge you cooperate with directives as gave and will be giving by the prime minister of the Biafra Republic government in exile, BRGIE, Ambassador Simon Ekpa.

“All activities gearing towards delegitimization of Nigeria in Biafra
territory must be respected by both native
and strangers because in coming days we
will engage the terrorist operating within Biafra territory. You must be vigilant and law abiding together we win this war”.
