Former Ghanaian AIDS Ambassador and Actress, Joyce Dzidzor Mensah has continued to appeal to the general public most especially those she may have offended by denying her HIV/AIDS status.

In a new video the actress posted few hours ago, she said she was raped while trying to keep her virginity when she was young.

Joyce Mensah said she is getting weaker and dying slowly, adding, she does not think she might still live up to a year before she dies.

Joyce Mensah said she was diagnosed of HIV in 2007 but the actress denied having the virus untill 2019 when she was first admitted in the hospital for being HIV-positive.

The actress arrived Ghana from Germany for a live TV press conference to carry out medical test on her HIV/AIDS status few months ago where she tested positive.

Her children, a boy and a girl tested negative.

According to Joyce Mensah in the new video, she came to Ghana to lie about her HIV status because she was fed up with rejection from people.

“This one that is taking me to my grave is my secret. I don’t think I’m going to live up to a year.

“I am not getting myself. When you know you are about to die, it is better to prepare, to make peace with your soul, to make peace with the world. Many of you judge me, condemn me but you don’t know my heart.

“I brought so much hates and enemies to myself the moment I said I don’t have HIV.

“This condition, one thing led to another, another thing led to another, another thing led to another.

“Becareful, there are diseases all around us.

“I said I want to go to 500 schools before I die. I hope I will achieve this.

“Let’s teach our children to abstain. Let’s teach the children to abstain from premarital sex.

“When I was young, I was so active singing at Church. When I was young, I said I wanted to remain a virgin but I couldn’t keep the promise. I was raped.

“I was rejected all my life. I was doing well with the depression but the last rejection I got from the father of my child, really broke me. It broke me. It broke me down.

“Are you happy to see my condition, do you know why I come on Facebook always, it’s because I don’t have friends. All my friends are in Ghana. There are really really good people here in Germany. I choose to live alone.

“Indeed, this world is not our place. Indeed we are just passing by. But with all my imperfection, with all my flaws, with all my soul madness, I choose to die with clean name so that my children will not suffer from my mistakes.

“I’m sorry I came to lie about my status. I was only fed up with the rejection. Now that I am dying slowly, please, spare me the insult. You don’t judge a dying person. No! When a person is illed, that is not when she’s judged. You don’t know what lie ahead of you. Let’s learn to forgive.

“Most importantly, please teach all the children to abstain from premarital sex”, Joyce said.

Joyce Mensah had on Monday admitted to have been diagnosed of HIV in 2007.

“In September 2007 when I was diagnosed, tears never departed from me…. I consoled my mother to stop crying and told her I wasn’t bothered about my status…..but when everyone is sleeping deep at night, I’d sneak out to cry out loud….

“And when I started educating people on HIV, I encouraged others but always cried in silence after my talk… I maintained a smiling face so that most people with HIV will derive some strength from me.

“I have been admitted in the psychiatric hospital in Hamburg on 4 occasions. 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019 all in psychiatric hospital for major depression.

“Due to my constant admission, My son Prince was taken away from me.

“But now I’m weak……Please be kind to my children when I’m no more. Do not treat them badly for my mistakes God bless you all”, she said.
