
Another Bomb Blast Rock Kogi Opposite Police Station
Barely 18 days after suspected bomb explosion that killed numbers of persons, another suspected bomb blast occured on Sunday at Omofemi beer parlour within Okepadi quarters in Kabba town of Kabba local government area of Kogi State.
This time, the explosion occured opposite Nigeria Police Force command in the area.
It would be recalled numbers of persons were killed in an explosion, authority claimed was caused by gas cylinder on May 11 at a beer parlour also at Kabba town.
The explosion claimed three lives out of sixteen persons affected.
Police authority said yesterday Sunday suspected bomb blast occured around 9:15 p.m and no casualty was recorded.
The first explosion occured at a beer parlour around Lewu Junction in Kabba Town.
That explosion claimed three lives out of the 16 persons affected, Punch Newspaper reported.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, William Aya, who confirmed the second incident on Sunday with newmen said there was no casualty in the Sunday’s explosion.
“As it is now, there is no casualty, but only chairs and tables and the building is affected by the yet to be determined nature of the explosion.
Aya said the Commissioner of Police, Mr Edward Egbuka, has directed “our DC Investigations and the bomb detective squad to move to the scene to ascertain the very nature of the explosion.
“The police is on top of the situation as our officers and men drafted to the area have cordoned the place until investigation reveals the real cause of the explosion.
“It is very unfortunate that criminal elements are out to disrupt the prevailing peace we are enjoying in Kogi,” he said.
