Court Refuses DCP Abba Kyari Bail, Wife Fell, Slumps

Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has refused to grant the detained Deputy Commissioner Of Police, DCP Abba Kyari bail.

While Justice Emeka Nwite deferred the ruling on bail applications filed by DCP Abba Kyari and six other persons charged in connection with the 25 kilograms of cocaine by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, the wife of the embattled DCP, Ramatu Kyari fell and slumped in the court.

She was quickly rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

It was gathered the wife fainted and slumped while armed operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, were leading Kyari and the other suspected drug dealers away from the court premises.

Kyari who is facing fresh drug trafficking charges brought against him by the NDLEA, pleaded not guilty before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja on Monday.

The NDLEA had filed eight counts of hard drug trafficking against him and six others.

He is also being charged with obstruction of justice through attempted bribery of NDLEA personnel.
