Edo State Government under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki has vowed to fish out the killers of Reverend Father Christopher Odia of Saint Michael Catholic Church at Ikabigbo area of Uzairue community in the Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State who murdered the priest while on his way to church on Sunday morning.
According to the State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, who visited Uzairue community on Monday in the company of the state security chiefs, said he has received briefings from eye witnesses and assured the people that the killers will be hunted down and made to pay for their crimes.
Philip Shaibu said:
In the company of the state security chiefs, I just arrived at Uzairue from Benin following the unfortunate attack and killing of the Reverend Father at the Saint Michael Catholic, Ikabigbo in Etsako West Local Government of Edo State, Father Christopher Odia.
I have received briefs from eyewitnesses in the community. I assured the troubled community that the assailants will be hunted down and they will pay for their crimes.
I met with the aggrieved youths and called for calm as I embark on visits to the chiefs and leaders of the community.
